Taiwan : Frontier Foundation
TechSoup-Taiwan is the IT donation programme of Frontier Foundation. Frontier Foundation has been working on creating digital opportunities for NGOs for 14 years through training, building websites and other ways to help NGOs reduce the digital divide. Frontier Foundation created the first Chinese search engine in Taiwan, set up the first server for NGOs, started the first training courses for NPOs, and has had significant impact building the online communities for women, the disabled, aboriginal tribes and other virtual communities.
We believe the future societies are societies of information and by information. To make quality decisions, to conduct research and planning successfully, supports from powerful information systems are a must. We work with non-for-profit organizations helping them access to those information and communication technologies. That will give them the power to deliver the best services to all fields.
TechSoup-Taiwan (www.techsoup-taiwan.org.tw) went live on June 26, 2008. We are excited in this new service. We expect to contribute to and learn more from the TechSoup Global community in the future.
