Connecting Up have been a long term partner of TechSoup since joining the network in 2007. Through the donation program, previously under the DonorTec name, Connecting Up and TechSoup have shared a mission of providing NGOs with the technology resources they need.
Connecting Up has been operating as an NGO in Adelaide, South Australia since 1981, providing community service and events information to NGOs on a local level, as well as technology information services to NGOs nationally. Their mission is to unleash the power of not-for-profits, which is the Australian term for NGOs.
Connecting Up have a broader ongoing strategy of providing ICT support to the Australian NGO sector, which includes the:
- Connecting Up Conference, Australia's only annual national conference on technology, social media and marketing in the NGO sector,
- Australia's directory of not-for-profits and charities, a comprehensive directory connecting Australia's NGOs
- Events, workshops and webinars to help train NGOs in the effective use of technology,
- Provide learning resources in an information rich Learning Centre.
Connecting Up also administer the TechSoup New Zealand program, which was launched in July 2008, and are the marketing and outreach partner for the TechSoup Asia program.
Connecting Up have also been involved in promoting the NetSquared program in Australia, leading to NetSquared groups in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
