With approximately 170 staff members and a long history, TechSoup Global is proud to have built and retained a talented, experienced and eclectic team. Our staff is a mix of highly skilled technologists, seasoned business professionals, and long-time nonprofit sector leaders and visionaries.
Daniel Ben-Horin, Founder and co-CEO
Mr. Ben-Horin created TechSoup Global (as "CompuMentor") in 1987 by tapping volunteer resources on the WELL, one of the first online communities. Over the past two decades, he guided the TechSoup Global evolution from a small, local nonprofit to a globally respected entity with 170 employees and a budget of USD$22 million. TechSoup Global offers the social benefit sector a platform for essential technology donations, nonprofit-specific technology content and a community from the corporate, social benefit and Web sectors, all working towards building NGO capacity worldwide.
Currently, as Co-C.E.O., Ben-Horin focuses on creating new opportunities for corporate and foundation partners around the globe to optimize their philanthropic impact.
Ben-Horin speaks and writes frequently on issues related to the underserved's access to technology. He also serves on the board of the Nonprofit Finance Fund. He has been named on four occasions (2004-2007) by the Nonprofit Times to its annual list of the 50 most influential leaders in the U.S. nonprofit sector.
Rebecca Masisak, co-CEO
Ms. Masisak joined TechSoup Global in 2001 to launch and chart the growth of TechSoup Global's technology product donation program and social enterprise. After successfully establishing the program in North America (www.techsoup.org/stock), Ms. Masisak developed an international expansion model, which today serves an international NGO audience in more than 23 countries. Under Ms. Masisak’s leadership, TechSoup Global has processed over four million donated and discounted technology products to free up more than US $1 billion for direct services. As Co-C.E.O., Ms. Masisak has been instrumental in building TechSoup Global’s capacity and reach to support the entire portfolio of TechSoup Global’s programs for bringing products, information, human capacity and resources to the communities who need them most.
Ms. Masisak speaks about social enterprise and global networks and was recently awarded the Full Circle Fund’s prestigious Full Impact Award in Technology.
