The fight around ACTA (the international version of SOPA)

Our staff in Warsaw report on international protests parallel to those against SOPA (the Stop Online Piracy Act) directed at ACTA (the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement).
Both address intellectual property issues, and are considered a threat to freedom of access and freedom of speech on the Internet.
Alicja Peszkowska writes that as the Polish government announced it will sign the ACTA agreement, hackers posted this unusual call to action:
“… ‘POLAND NEEDS A REVOLUTION… many government and public sites will be blacked out’ … [which] includes a popular prime minister’s daughter's blog on fashion and make up. Instead of the usual lipstick & hairstyle photos, the site would reveal a note: ‘Tell Your Dad He Won’t Win With Us. Stop ACTA’ (Powiedz Tacie, że z nami nie wygra. STOP ACTA)…”
