TechSoup Global Cloud Survey: Why We Care So Much about the Cloud

TechSoup Global is truly global. With the completion of TSG's Cloud Survey of 10,500 nonprofits in 88 countries, co-CEO Marnie Webb reviews the implications of this unprecedented study in her post on Beth’s Blog.

Why do we care so much about the cloud?

“We care about the ability of communities to create change. That requires that organizations are able to spend as much time on the mission as possible. It also requires the ability to connect, to share, to communicate – in real time. And the cloud helps that. From project management software to communications platforms, the ability to use cloud-based solutions to quickly and effectively stand up a technology application and allow others to integrate is critical…”

We teamed up with U.K.-based GuideStar International (GSI) to improve our capacity-building programs for civil society. GSI works with civil society leaders worldwide to develop transparency and civil society organization reporting in their own countries. GSI supports this growing network through the provision of a shared common technology platform as well as advice and support in each country’s development process.
