Campus Party Europe in Berlin: Engaging Hackers for a Better World

Over on the Stanford Social Innovation Review blog, TechSoup Global co-CEO Daniel Ben-Horin writes about last month’s Campus Party Europe in Berlin.
TechSoup has a special interest in seeing that hackers and social sector organizations forge partnerships in order to create real social change, and there is perhaps no more fertile ground to engage talented, idealistic young geeks than Campus Party, a global community of “Campuseros” that now numbers 224,000.
Although they've been meeting mostly in the Spanish-speaking world until now, Daniel says:
“Campus Party Europe was the organization’s attempt to show that it wasn't just a Spanish thing. Seven thousand young geeks came together at Berlin Templehof Airport, most of them camping there for the week…When the dust cleared, it worked. No one can call it a Spanish thing anymore. It's a world thing.”
Who are these ‘Campuseros’? Read more abou them in Daniel’s post on the SSIR blog.
